Love and Self-Worth

Building a Compassionate Relationship with Yourself

Working with Archangel Jophiel

Love and self-worth are not destinations we arrive at once and never revisit. They are relationships—ones that grow, soften, and sometimes need our attention again.

This has been true in my own life. Even after doing the inner work, old patterns around self-worth can resurface. Not as failures, but as invitations to return to compassion, understanding, and choice.

February’s theme invites us to explore love and self-worth not as concepts to perfect, but as practices we continue to deepen.

When Caring for Others Begins with Caring for Yourself

There is a reason we are told to put our own oxygen mask on first in emergencies.

For a long time, I didn’t truly understand this. Like many people, I believed that putting others first was a sign of love, responsibility, and goodness. It wasn’t until I was forced to prioritize my own needs that I began to see things differently.

Caring for yourself does not mean you stop caring for others.
It means you offer support from a place of fullness rather than obligation.

When we give from depletion, resentment can quietly take root, toward ourselves and toward those we’re trying to help. When we give from self-respect and self-love, generosity becomes joyful, sustainable, and sincere.

Reframing the Word “Selfish”

Many of us were taught that self-care or self-love is selfish.

Yet true self-worth teaches something very different.

Taking care of yourself allows you to show up with clarity, patience, and presence. It creates space for meaningful connection rather than obligation-driven effort.

Learning to value yourself is not about withdrawing from the world; it is about engaging with it more honestly.

Working with Archangel Jophiel

This month, we are working with Archangel Jophiel, whose energy supports clarity, compassion, and a gentle shift in perspective, especially around self-love.

Jophiel is often my go to Archangel when I notice old self-worth patterns surfacing. Her presence is kind, steady, and supportive. She helps soften inner criticism, release feelings of unworthiness, and gently dismantle the walls we may have built, consciously or unconsciously, to protect ourselves.

Her guidance reminds us that self-love is not something we earn.
It is something we allow.

A Channelled Message from Archangel Jophiel

My children, this month is about exploring who you are, creating opportunities to change for your highest good. You will change your thinking about the word 'selfish'. What many have learned is: “You have to be selfish to be selfless.” What that means to truly take care of others, you have to put your needs first to freely give to others. This then brings you joy and has meaningful connections with others.

A Gentle Invitation to Deepen This Work

If this theme resonates and you feel called to explore love and self-worth more gently, I’ve created a reflection companion aligned with this energy.

Seeing with Clarity is a calm, supportive companion designed to help you:

  • Shift self-critical thought patterns
  • Explore self-worth with compassion rather than pressure
  • Work with Archangel Jophiel’s guidance
  • Create space for clarity, beauty, and self-acceptance

It’s a quiet space you can return to whenever you notice self-doubt or inner tension arising.

You’re invited to explore it if and when it feels aligned.

Reflection for This Season

Self-worth is not about doing more.
It is about allowing yourself to matter.

Reflection Question:
Where in my life am I being invited to offer myself the same care I give to others?

Closing Thought

Love begins within.
And when it does, it changes how we show up everywhere else.
